Visco elastic memory foam – the material

Generally referred to as memory foam, this NASA developed material has an almost unique property in that it can temporarily shape and mould itself around any object placed upon it.

When the object is removed, or changes position, the memory foam returns to its original profile in a matter of seconds and without any permanent indentation.

Cheap and thin memory foam toppers will not have the ability to provide adequate cushioning and profiling and will have a limited life span. They will also have low quality ticking and will not wear well.

Always look for a thick topper with a quality finish to it, this will be indicative of the memory foam within.

Delivery

Most people buy memory foam mattress toppers over the internet and they are usually shipped "shrink wrapped" in polythene and are a fraction of their uncompressed size when delivered. They do however quickly return to their normal proportions once unpackaged.
