Calcium ceramic or jade mattress topper

The ceramic mattress topper falls into the category of a therapeutic topper and offers similar but alternative effects to a magnetic topper.

How it works

A ceramic mattress topper typically has a large number of tiny disks or plates made of calcium ceramics and it is these disks that provide the therapy. They are set into the mattress topper and do not affect the comfort of the product.

The therapy itself is supposed to result from the emission of infrared rays which, like magnetic therapy, are claimed to relax and restore muscles, aching joints and perpetuate general good bodily health.

As with many therapy products there is no categorical proof that these ceramic discs actually fulfil all (or any) of their claims, but they do have a number of supporters.

Other benefits that these therapy mattress toppers claim to offer include –

  • Muscle soothing
  • The lowering of high blood pressure
  • The relief of pain
  • Easing of headaches
  • Promotion of stomach and intestinal function
  • The propagation of negative ions (in the air)
  • A reduction in the effect of electromagnetic waves (from electrical products, mobile phones etc).
